Hi Karen,
ReplyDeleteI made mention to Susanne and Dorie the other day that my practice has changed, primarily on two fronts. The first, because it occurred prior to teacher training starting, for the sake of this comment, "Orbital Hip Rotation", such as in Adrha Chandrasana. First introduced to me by Dorie, where we were basically in Down Dog, and then lifting a leg till level, and then rotating it over. Susanne, a few days later proposed a similar pose incorporating "Orbital Hip Rotation", where the beginnings of the pose started in the same, in Down Dog, leg lifts and is followed "only" by hip rotation and a large spiral (spinal) rotation. Using the latter, my hips are opening up.
The other front is in Tadasana. With all that was learned from foot placement up thru hip to the shoulder, including the neck and head, my balance has grown. I will say that I do not feel as tall a mountain (which I'll equate with the ego, but I am a more solid and yeilding mountian.
I hope I made some sence in my explanation...
Thank you and Namaste,
Sven
